To My Wife

by Hot Lizard Boy

The moon is at his most smiling tonight,
as we throw ourselves at the mercy of the surf
Tomorrow I leave you empty
And I return to darkness and dust
Your laughter is girlish,
never belying that your thoughts are heavily womanish
I stroke the blossoming fullness of your naked belly
That which makes you more miraculous than man
And I shall not witness the fruit of your womb
As he struggles to free himself from your body
and sets on his path to manhood
Know this, wife
That tho I leave you this unwilling
I clench my teeth to battle the darkness for you both
